Shiraz is the most widely planted grape variety in Australia and Barossa can rightfully claim to be its spiritual home. Visit three of the region's finest producers with Coast and Co.

Begin the day at Eperosa Wines hosted by Brett Grocke, a sixth generation Barossan whose forefathers planted some of the first vines in the colony in the 1840’s. Everything at Eperosa is a beacon of quality, from de-stemming the best parcels by hand (a rare technique in the winemaking trade) and aging wines in French oak to bottling and corking them by hand.

Late morning, visit Standish Wine Company, where owner Dan Standish shares some of his very best wines produced from old-vine Barossa shiraz grapes. Diligence and the ability to say ‘no’ are core hallmarks of Dan’s philosophy and his wines are very limited, usually selling out within a few days of release. Enjoy a one-on-one tasting with the winemaker while overlooking a beautiful barrel hall of French oak barriques.

Enjoy a private tasting of Torbreck’s best shiraz wines in the Clan Room plus a tour of the wine library, with its incredible collection of large format bottles, a memorable end to the day.
