While The Barossa Valley is firmly established on the world stage for wine production, the emerging the distillery scene has been quietly producing gin that is turning heads.

From The Louise, it’s a mere 300-metre exercise to source the house gin from Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, aptly named ‘House Gin’. Favouring a contemporary style that balances juniper and citrus notes, the distillery uses locally grown lavender to give a beautiful floral depth and blue cornflowers to add a hint a of sweetness.

While a good gin and tonic is a clear favourite, the beverage team at The Louise goes even further to bring a sense-of-place to the sunset staple. The culinary team creates a tonic syrup from natural ingredients from the region and uses a combination of premium Varci Pink Peppercorn Tonic, carbonated rainwater and dried lime from the kitchen garden to reflect a genuine taste of the Barossa.
