Since first opening its doors the Barossa Farmers Market has barely missed a Saturday morning opening.
The heritage Yalumba Vitners Shed sets the atmosphere for showcasing the region’s diverse and friendly artisan growers and producers. Around fifty stalls from across the Barossa feature in the weekly event, including produce ranging from fresh meat and small goods, seafood, fruit and vegetables, bread, honey, baked treats, flowers and coffee. The experience is as rewarding for the tastebuds as it is immersive, and the diverse collection of stalls is one of the best ways for visitors to experience to flavours of the Barossa all at once.
The Barossa Farmers Market has a proud history as an incubator for small businesses in the region, helping them to set up trading and supporting their growth. Well-known food brands like Maggie Beer Products, Saskia Beer produce, Careme Pastry and Relish the Barossa each had their beginnings as valued stallholders at the market, and their association with the Barossa is evident in their operations and marketing today.
The market runs with a simple set of philosophies and standards: food only, locally grown, organic, sustainably produced and no genetically engineered produce. The result? The Barossa Farmers Market is renowned as Australia’s leading produce-driven market. Learn more here.
